Overview

Tripp Lite's AVR900U Ultra-Compact Line Interactive UPS offers complete power protection for desktop PCs, network workstations and a wide variety of professional and consumer electronic devices. Uninterruptible Power Supply / UPS circuits switch to battery backup mode within milliseconds to keep connected equipment running without interruption or data loss during power failures. Automatic Voltage Regulation / AVR power conditioning maintains smooth, continuous operation of connected equipment during brownouts and overvoltages. Surge-only outlets offer convenient protection for printers and other desktop accessories not requiring battery support. AC and dataline surge suppression prevents connected equipment damage. USB communications port supports built-in power management and auto-shutdown features of Windows and Mac OS X or full featured monitoring and data-saving auto-shutdown options using Tripp Lite's free PowerAlert monitoring software.

Keeps us running!! We're in the investment industry and rely on our computers for timely market information. With the unpredictable weather we have had times when power to our building has been interrupted. Thankfully our UPS kicked in and kept us running long enough to make the appropriate adjustments. Great general purpose home UPS This UPS packs a punch for a reasonable price. Great power backup length of time. 12, I repeat 12 outlets! Reliability that Tripp-Lite provides is second to none. When my low older 2 1/2 year old battery started making my UPS do strange things, they were amazing with customer service that went above and beyond most experiences with any other company. Kudo's guys. Would definitely buy another, oh wait, I already have 3 of these and counting ... October 29, 2012

In other words, do I only need to add up the power requirementes of the equipment conected to the 6 UPS protected outlets, disregarding the power requirements of the 6 Surgeprotection-only outlets, to determine how much output capacity I need?

Spike protection; energy storage

Two questions:
(1) What rating can you provide regarding spike protection, e.g., from a nearby lightning strike?
(2) For what length of time can this unit support a load requiring its full rating? And how would I calculate its time-versus-load curve?
