PowerAlert Network Power Management System
PowerAlert Local
PowerAlert Local software is intended for typical home and small business applications. It is installed on a desktop PC or networked server, and allows the computer to communicate with a UPS system through a serial or USB cable connection. You can use it to monitor power conditions, control your UPS system and enable automatic computer shutdown in the event of a power failure. PowerAlert Local also allows your UPS system to appear as an SNMP-manageable device on your network, enabling remote monitoring and control via PowerAlert Network Management System software or a third-party Network Management System such as HP Openview or CA Unicenter. If you have two UPS systems connected to a computer to provide redundant backup power, PowerAlert Local can manage both UPS systems. PowerAlert Local requires the free Java Runtime Environment.
PowerAlert Network Shutdown Agent
PowerAlert Network Shutdown Agent (NSA) should be used when computers cannot be connected to your UPS system's USB or serial communication port(s) directly, due to physical proximity or the number of computer involved. It's also useful for users who cannot install Java because of computer resource limitations or IT department restrictions. PowerAlert NSA monitors an SNMP-enabled device over your network and shuts down your computer when it detects a signal (typically an "on battery" event) from the monitored device. You can monitor several types of Tripp Lite devices, including UPS systems with an SNMP Network Card (Tripp Lite Model Number SNMPWEBCARD), UPS systems that appear on the network via PowerAlert Local, and network-enabled PDUs.
PowerAlert Network Management System
PowerAlert Network Management System (NMS) is intended for experienced network professionals. This software-only solution can monitor and control up to 250 SNMP-enabled devices, including network-enabled UPS systems, switched Power Distribution Units (PDUs), sensors, and UPS systems that appear on the network via PowerAlert Local. PowerAlert NMS incorporates and extends the functionality of PowerAlert Local. PowerAlert NMS requires the free Java Runtime Environment.
All three PowerAlert editions can be downloaded for FREE from the PowerAlert downloads page.
Optional SNMP Network Card
Tripp Lite's internal SNMP/Web Management Card (Model Number SNMPWEBCARD) allow UPS systems and select switched PDUs to appear as fully managed network nodes (monitoring and control). Access options include 3rd-party SNMP tools, Telnet, and any web browser (HTTP/HTTPS).
- Password-protected for increased security.
- Flash-upgradeable.
- Real-time clock and NTP-compatibility.
