You want reliable - go no further I bought this to power my new HF ham radio transceiver. None of these transceivers come with their own power supplies, though some vendors or suppliers will bundle or recommend one. I have a simple rule, based on experience - consider Trippe first. I wasn't disappointed. This is a very quiet, cool running power supply that handles all of my needs, and has room for growth. Having said that, the price was reasonable - not a bargain, but considering the quality, it was quite reasonable. I would definitely recommend it. In fact, if I needed another power supply, I'd get another one of these. October 5, 2014
Great product The PR- 60 converter works very well. We use it to life test 12 volt pumps and we run it 1000 hours at a time. It holds up great. Be careful handling the converter it is heavy and if you tip it toward the plastic fuse holder, it will break. If you don't notice you have broke the fuse holder and you turn it on, you can damage the converter. December 30, 2013

Answer:
Without looking at the label on the amp, I can't give you a guarantee, but it should be more than adequate.I assume that the amp is 700 watts PEP. This power supply will power a 1000 watt PEP ham radio linear amp without breaking a sweat (so to speak).

Answer:
This is normal. It is impossible for a power supply to function without its getting warm. It should not get hot to the touch. Please ensure that there is adequate clearance on all sides of the power supply. At least six inches on all sides should allow for adequate cooling.

Answer:
If any product is running constantly, there's a chance it may get warm--the PR60 included.

However, depending on the age of the unit you might want to reach out to our main product support team just for a quick assurance check.

The number is 773-869-1233 option 3 and email is techsupport@tripplite.com.

Answer:
Thank you for your inquiry. The PR60 will not run at 50amps for the time you require. The PR60 only runs 48amps continously. It will support an initial end-rush of 60amps but only for a short period of time.
