Neat design Securely plugs into a standard double outlet.....perhaps 150% the size of a standard outlet cover plate? Does not stick out too far. Provided some emi/rfi reduction on my coaxial antenna input. May 20, 2013
from thunder alley Florida is lightning capital - so far I've lost a 300 cd player and an expensive dvd player recorder. My electric company recommended this HTSWIVEL6 - if they rate it top then I'm going to trust they know which product is best for here. March 2, 2013
Easy to use. I like it because it is easy to use and it plugs directly into the wall and because it has more than enough outlets. December 15, 2012
Compact surge protection - a Must Have. I bought this for our HDTV, Home Theatre System and Cable Box protection to replace a power strip that had no surge protection. This is great - saved space, added critical protection and eliminated some cable/wire clutter. Have used Tripp-Lite for years for my computer with no problems. Have not used the cable connections yet, but I'm sure they would be very beneficial. Would Highly Recommenend this to anyone to protect all of your electronics. November 1, 2012

There is a hard plastic piece on the back of the surge suppresor that will not line up with anything when plugging the unit in. Does this piece get broke off or am I missing the purpose for this piece?

Answer:
It lines up with the other ground pin in dual outlet. If you need to plug seven cords into one dual outlet, then you have a problem. You are running too many things for you wiring. You really should call an electrician.

Answer:
The enclosure design of this unique surge that allows the unit to have the 180 swivel action prevents using a center screw. That is why the unit has the additional plastic pin on the back above the brass blades. This pin fits into the ground blade space on the second receptacle in a duplex and provides the additional stabilization needed to help prevent pull out.

Answer:
Thank you for your inquiry. The plastic peg you are inquiring about is used to secure the Swivel6 in the ground hole of the lower outlet of a dual outlet setup. This peg is the same distance as would be a ground prong if the swivel6 had two plugs and should easily insert into the lower outlet's ground hole. Do not break this off as it may damage the housing. If you are unable to get the Swivel6 installed because of this piece, contact Tripp Lite Technical Support for assistance.
