Overview

Tripp Lite's U244-001-VGA-R, USB to VGA Display Adapter, enables you to connect an additional monitor or projector to a computer/laptop USB 2.0 port. Up to six U244-001-VGA-R adapters can be used simultaneously, allowing the user to connect up to six additional monitors to a single computer. Once the installation is done, the computer screen appears on the add-on monitor(s) without the hassle of function keys to swap to a second monitor. The U244-001-VGA-R chip-set supports video resolutions up to 1920 x 1080 (60Hz), 1080p (60Hz). The U244-001-VGA-R is compatible with Windows 2000 and later, and Mac OS X 10.4 and later operating systems.

  • Computer running Windows 2000 or later, or an Intel-based Mac running OS X 10.4 or later. Power PC-based Macs are not supported.

Note: Only 1 added monitor can support DVD playback. In order to support DVD playback, your computer must meet the following requirements:

Get this for easy dual screen setup We used a few other brands prior to going to Tripp Lite. We have abandoned the others and use Tripp Lite exclusively for our dual monitor setups. We have well over 50 workstations using this product. Competitive price with other brands minus the grief that others cause. Thank you Tripp Lite. May 1, 2013

I want to buy this to add a 2nd VGA signal to allow Extended Desktop Display (2 monitors w/ different images) and am wondering if the task bar continues across all monitors?

ALSO, do you happen to know how the Tripp Lite compares to the Dualhead2Go VGA sold by Matrox which is $140 vs the $55 for the Tripp Lite?

Task Bar only shows on monitor designated as monitor 1. Not familiar with Matrox.

This adapter states that it is compatible with Mac OS X 10.4 or later, but I'm not able to get it to work on my Mac running OS X 10.7. Why?
The Mac OS X 10.7 driver is still under Beta testing and is available only online and not on the CD that comes with the product. Please use the Mac OS X 10.7 driver on the product web page.
