Tripp Lite's APS1250 DC-to-AC inverter with automatic line-to-battery transfer and integrated charging system serves as an extended run UPS, a standalone power source or an automotive inverter. Supplies up to 1250 watts of continuous 120V AC power to 2 AC outlets from any 12V battery or automotive DC source. OverPower inverter output feature temporarily provides up to 150% of the continuous output for 1-60 minutes and DoubleBoost inverter output feature delivers up to 200% of the continuous output for up to 10 seconds, providing the extra power needed to cold start heavy-duty tools and motorized equipment. When AC cable is connected to a live wall socket, commercial power passes through to connected equipment and the battery set is recharged via 3 stage, 30 amp charging system. In UPS mode, the APS system responds to blackouts and voltage fluctuations with a near instantaneous automatic transfer to battery-derived AC output. Includes a set of high current DC input terminals for simple installation (user supplies batteries and cabling - see owner's manual for recommendations). Passes sine wave utility or generator power during battery charging and UPS line power operation, plus efficient PWM sine wave AC output in inverter and UPS backup modes. Reliable large transformer design, with frequency control powers resistive electronic loads or large inductive motors, compressors and other items with high current needs on startup. Optional APSRM4 wired remote power switch with full status LEDs provides remote power inverter on/off switching and continuous status information (APSRM4 sold separate). Supports an unlimited amount of runtime with any number of user-supplied batteries connected. Highly adaptable to a variety of applications and site conditions with adjustable charger settings for wet/gel battery types and selectable line to battery power transfer voltages.

NOTE: To protect against high current draw that may occur during inverter failure, a fuse link rated at 200a should be positioned no more than 18" from the APS1250's battery in the positive line.

Key Features

Nice solution for Pellet stove backup power.

Comments about Tripp Lite PowerVerter APS 1250W 12VDC 120V Inverter/Charger with Auto-Transfer Switching 2 Outlets:

I purchased this product to serve as a backup power source for my pellet stove. The power at my home is very unreliable and I;m not always here to start the generator when power goes out. This unit has performed flawlessly for me. It keeps the battery, a Vmaxtanks VMAX SLR155 AGM, charged perfectly. I gave the product 4 out of 5 stars as I wish it had one more feature which would be to a line conditioning feature when in AC-mode. Combining the features of this inverter and tripp-lite's LC2400 would make for an awesome combination for folks with the need for an inverter because of unreliable grid power.. Hey maybe this could be a new product idea! Over all I highly recommend this inverter product and the Tripp-lite company.

Comments about Tripp Lite PowerVerter APS 1250W 12VDC 120V Inverter/Charger with Auto-Transfer Switching 2 Outlets:

I got this to replace multiple UPS units for my various computers, routers, switches, phones, satellite boxes, etc. I just paired it with a solar gel battery, and it works 100 times better than a regular UPS--and for less money. On top of that, I have a terrific scaleable source of power for the unbelievable amount of brownouts and outages we have here. I immediately got the same setup in my parents house, and now they barely notice the outages. I think everyone needs one of these!

Comments about Tripp Lite PowerVerter APS 1250W 12VDC 120V Inverter/Charger with Auto-Transfer Switching 2 Outlets:

I use my APS 1250 as a sump pump back-up. I use it with a group 31 deep cycle battery and it works GREAT. It has been in use now for about 2 years. I unplug it about every 6 months to keep the battery active. It last me about 5 hours which is more than enough time for the power to come back online. Great Product Recomended

GREAT PRODUCT FOR WHEN UTILITY POWER FAILS

By

Comments about Tripp Lite PowerVerter APS 1250W 12VDC 120V Inverter/Charger with Auto-Transfer Switching 2 Outlets:

Because I live in a suburban area, about 35 northeast of Houston, Texas, my neighborhood is subject to occasional electric utility failures... especially during severe thunder storms.

I purchased this Tripp-Lite unit over a year ago, and it has served me well. I utilized it to replace several small, battery powered UPS units to power my computers, printers, cable modem and DSL modem.

The Tripp-Lite unit has performed flawlessly. When the street power fails, the Tripp-Lite immediately turns itself on, allowing my electronic equipment to continue operating. Then, when the street power comes back on, the Tripp-Lite automatically turns itself off.

I use a 100 amp sealed lead-acid car battery to power the Tripp-Lite. It is especially convenient that the Tripp-Lite has a built-in battery trickle charger which operates automatically. This keeps the battery charged at all times.

I anticipate the 100 amp battery will probably need to be replaced after three years. But the cost of a new battery does not bother me, because during its life it has served me well... allowing all of my equipment (and data) to remain undamaged when the street power fails.

I highly recommend this unit. In fact, I purchased a similar, higher output Tripp-Lite unit for my second residence in Ohio.
