When batteries run low or fail on other TrippLite UPS models, they turn off the mains power to the connected equipment even if AC line power is still available. Does this model behave in the same manner?

We appreciate your interest in our UPS Solutions line of products. Please note that some Tripp Lite UPS units, including the SMART2500XLHG (and as typically found industry-wide on UPS units of similar topology), require that a specific mimimum DC Voltage be present for peak operation. This encourages the user to always utlize "fresh" batteries, vital to attaining the expected runtimes.

However, also note that there may be software based options available to you. So if you'd like to discuss your application and how you’ll use this product further, our Chicago-based team of tech support experts is available to work with you at your convenience online and via phone or fax:

    Physical buttons on this model

I was wondering if there were physical buttons on this model to turn the unit on and off if the software or the computers were down and unable to operate.

And also if there was a way to only have certain output plugs powered while leaving the other ones off, such as if we wanted to move a motorized machine from room to room, but not want to turn the entire system with the computers on.

Unfortunately this unit does not have an on/off switch. Also while the software included can power down individual pieces of equipment, individual outelts can not be powered down specifically.
