Wonderful product My company has purchased over 20 of these units and all are rack mounted in a production server environment. The quality of the unit is top notch and the 15 foot cord is more than enough to get to where it's needed. The bright LED AMP meter is easy to read at a distance and the included twist lock adapter is an added bonus. I would recommend these units to anyone that has the need to monitor their power usage to prevent a circuit from being over capacity. September 16, 2013
Great product We have 4 of these PDU's & they are great! Very versatile mounting & power cord is long. October 29, 2012

What is the Meter range?

When the meter shows 16 Amps, does it mean the actual load is:

(1) 15 to 16 Amps
OR
(2) 16 to 17 Amps

In other word, is it at the safe derated level when displaying 16 Amps continuous.

(Same question for both PDUMH20 and PDUMH20HV)

Thanks.

Answer:
It's typically safe to have a sustained 80% load on a circuit. On a dedicated 20-amp circuit a constant reading of 16-amp is fine. It's fine to go over that, but the closer you get the most likely you'll trip the breaker.

Answer:
Hi Mario,

It's always preferred to err on the side of caution here just to make sure nothing is being overloaded so with that said the meter range at 16 amps would be 16 to 17 amps.

Answer:
We appreciate your interest in our PDU Solutions line of products. Please note that our PDU units do not utilize surge suppression circuits. As our PDU units are typically utilized in conjunction with our UPS products, we utilize the surge suppression circuits found in the UPS itself to attenuate any surges.

If you'd like to discuss your application and how you’ll use this product further, our Chicago-based team of tech support experts is available to work with you at your convenience online and via phone or fax:

What is the accuracy of the ammeter?

I have installed 10 of the throughout our plant and the reading is always low on units compared to a Fluke 87V DMM, the FLA of the load, & compared to a "Wiremold"J06B0B20X-AM. Did we receive a batch with bad meters? So far we are disappointed with the accuracy of the PDUMH20.

Answer:
The meters will provide reading of the connected equipment. Without knowing what is on the PDUs specifically there's no way to determine if the meters are actually inaccurate.

Answers

Answer:
The purpose of the grounding lug is to provide an extra ground if necessary, if the PDU is already ground it's not really needed.
