Tripp Lite's APSINT2434 DC-to-AC inverter with automatic line-to-battery transfer and integrated charging system serves as an extended run UPS, a standalone power source or an automotive inverter. Supplies up to 2400 watts of continuous 230V AC power from any 24V battery or automotive DC source. When hardwire AC input is energized, commercial power passes through to connected equipment and the battery set is recharged via 3 stage, 30 amp charging system. In UPS mode, the APS system responds to blackouts and voltage fluctuations with a near instantaneous automatic transfer to battery-derived AC output. Includes a set of high current DC input terminals for simple installation (user supplies batteries and cabling - see owner's manual for recommendations). Passes sine wave utility or generator power during battery charging and UPS line power operation, plus efficient PWM sine wave AC output in inverter and UPS backup modes. Reliable large transformer design, with frequency control powers resistive electronic loads or large inductive motors, compressors and other items with high current needs on startup. Optional APSRM4 wired remote power switch with full status LEDs provides remote power inverter on/off switching and continuous status information (APSRM4 sold separate). Supports an unlimited amount of runtime with any number of user-supplied batteries connected. Highly adaptable to a variety of applications and site conditions with adjustable charger settings for wet/gel battery types and selectable line to battery power transfer voltages.

LEDS ALARMS & SWITCHES

Switches 3 position on/off/remote switch enables simple on/off power control plus "auto/remote" setting that enables distant on/off control of the inverter system when used in conjunction with optional APSRM4 accessory when used in inverter mode. In AC uninterruptible power mode, "auto/remote" setting enables automatic transfer from line power to battery power - to maintain continuous AC power to connected loads.

This product is not Pure sine wave The device it self is well robust. It has DIPs for proper setup. Also support for a remote indicators and charging switch. Cable connection is easy. It could be 5 stars, but unfortunately it is NOT pure sine wave. Frequency is unstable. From 0Hz to +100Hz, that means when running, it will destroy everything without protection, usually small appliances, night light, charger, fan,... radio clock will not show properly, some PCs will reset when even 20ms should be enough. And ya, there is lousy support, or no support at all. January 6, 2013

I have a 1/2 hp 230 volt submersible well pump that only mentions 230v at 60 Hz in it's manual. I am considering this APSINT2424 unit as a backup to grid power for my water supply.

Will this APSINT2424 unit which is rated to supply 230 v output at 50 Hz run my well pump properly? ...with specs saying it runs on 230 volts 60 Hz . What are the considerations I should be aware of?

Answer: 
Because the APSINT2424 has an output frequency of 50hz and the submersible well pump in question requires 60hz, the APSINT2424 is not compatible for this application. The pump, if connected to the APSINT2424, may simply not power on or may cause damage to the pump preventing further use of the device.

Could this 230 volt output unit be wired to a 115 volt circuit breaker panel where 115 volt electricity draws could be drawn from one of two hot output wires or the other. (2 x 115 w ground = 230 volts / 1/2 hot wires / one hot wire only to ground = 115 volts). Could this unit be wired in such a way to hand 115 volt draws without damage? What are the consideration to be aware of?

Answer: 
Because the APSINT2424 was designed to only have an AC input and output of 230VAC, the unit will not power on with only 115VAC connected to the hot hardwire AC input terminal. The unit requires 230VAC at its AC input to power on and pass power to any connected devices as well as charge connected battery cells.

i have a APSINT2424, with 4 of 12v/200AH connected to it (making 24V/400AH capacity).
When AC in is present, the line indicator (green) will glow, and Low battery (red) indicator will also glow and it will remain like that for a very long time. When i check with my clamp multimetre, i noticed that no current is going to the batter bank from the inverter.
