We use a few of these around the office; can't say I'm not impressed on the dependability of the product. I recommend this to anyone who needs protection for power surges and needs their systems to stay online should any disasters occur. September 26, 2013
I have two of these units at two different offices for the same job but different experiences. The first office works well. No drops, no outages. The second office it has to be unplugged and plugged back in about once a week to get it to keep providing power during a local power fluctuation. One number off on serial numbers between the two units. I'm currently working on addressing these issues with TrippLite. September 25, 2013
great product! often use these for high level employees (VIPs). havent had any issues with them. keep up the good work triplite! September 25, 2013
Great product, keeps computers up long enough for users to save their work or for the power to come back in. September 25, 2013

Internet Office 550U beeping

My 550U unit suddenly started beeping. The green light was on.

I turned the unit off and on several times and now it no longer beeps. Searching the manual I found nothing to explain the beeping?

What does this mean? Is the unit defective?

Thanks,

Chip

Answer:
Thanks for your query. A green light followed by 4 successive beeps indicates that the unit was operating from its internal batteries (see Page 3 Sec. 2). This is normal operaton whenever the unit goes into an inverter mode in order to support connected loads.

If the power goes off in the middle of the night, the beeper acts as an unwanted alarm clock. Disabling the alarm would be very helpful.
