Thank you for your inquiry. As long as the peak current of the refrigerator's compressor does not exceed the 1000 watt capacity of the VR2008R, it will support the refridgerator.

AVR vs SURGE sockets

The unit has two sets of sockets;
How do u decide what type of equipment uses the AVR as opposed to the SURGE sockets?

Answer: 
The AVR sockets maintain 120V nominal output during voltage fluctuations between 100 and 145V and offer two levels of voltage stabilization for overvoltages and brownouts.

Surge outlets provide AC surge and EMI/RFI noise suppression.

So really, it's going to depend on what just needs surge suppression and what will also need to have steady 120 vac power at all times.
