Overview

The APS1250 1250W PowerVerter APS 12V DC 120V AC Inverter/Charger is a reliable power source for a wide variety of equipment ranging from power tools and pumps to portable lighting and computer equipment in heavy-load conditions. With no fumes, fuel or excess noise, it’s an excellent alternative to generator power.

The DC-to-AC inverter features an automatic line-to-battery transfer switch and integrated charging system that allow it to work as a vehicle inverter, standalone AC power source or extended-run UPS. It delivers 1250W of continuous power, 1875W up to one hour, or 2500W of peak power up to 10 seconds during equipment startup or cycling. An automatic overload detector, cooling fan and resettable AC circuit breakers protect the unit from damage.

Designed for easy installation in RVs, over-the-road trucks, fleet vehicles and emergency vehicles, the APS1250 converts stored power from any 12V battery or automotive DC source to safe, stable, computer-grade AC power and sends it to two NEMA 5-15R outlets for unlimited runtime. When powered by an external 120V AC source, the unit keeps the user-supplied battery charged via a three-stage 30A charging system while simultaneously delivering AC power to connected equipment.

When used as a UPS, the APS1250 responds to blackouts and brownouts with an automatic, instantaneous transfer to battery-derived AC output. LEDs on the unit indicate load level, battery charge level, shutdown status and system fault status.

Comments about Tripp Lite 1250W PowerVerter APS 12VDC 120V Inverter/Charger with Auto Transfer Switching 2 Outlets:

Product works. Cut the sides off to fit the sump pump cords in place. Backup device used once in awhile had to still buy in line fuses of large size, and very large cables which cost extra $100 bucks not related to the inverter.

Comments about Tripp Lite 1250W PowerVerter APS 12VDC 120V Inverter/Charger with Auto Transfer Switching 2 Outlets:

I've used this product for a number of years now as UPS backup power for HD-SDI video assist recording system for feature films & television. It instantly switches to battery power upon losing AC, my computer can't see the switch & keeps recording flawlessly. It can power my whole system for up to an hour with an 87 amp/hr marine battery attached. My system uses too much power for a traditional computer UPS.

Nice solution for Pellet stove backup power.

By Pete from NH

Comments about Tripp Lite 1250W PowerVerter APS 12VDC 120V Inverter/Charger with Auto Transfer Switching 2 Outlets:

I purchased this product to serve as a backup power source for my pellet stove. The power at my home is very unreliable and I;m not always here to start the generator when power goes out. This unit has performed flawlessly for me. It keeps the battery, a Vmaxtanks VMAX SLR155 AGM, charged perfectly. I gave the product 4 out of 5 stars as I wish it had one more feature which would be to a line conditioning feature when in AC-mode. Combining the features of this inverter and tripp-lite's LC2400 would make for an awesome combination for folks with the need for an inverter because of unreliable grid power.. Hey maybe this could be a new product idea! Over all I highly recommend this inverter product and the Tripp-lite company.

Comments about Tripp Lite 1250W PowerVerter APS 12VDC 120V Inverter/Charger with Auto Transfer Switching 2 Outlets:

I got this to replace multiple UPS units for my various computers, routers, switches, phones, satellite boxes, etc. I just paired it with a solar gel battery, and it works 100 times better than a regular UPS--and for less money. On top of that, I have a terrific scaleable source of power for the unbelievable amount of brownouts and outages we have here. I immediately got the same setup in my parents house, and now they barely notice the outages. I think everyone needs one of these!

Comments about Tripp Lite 1250W PowerVerter APS 12VDC 120V Inverter/Charger with Auto Transfer Switching 2 Outlets:

I use my APS 1250 as a sump pump back-up. I use it with a group 31 deep cycle battery and it works GREAT. It has been in use now for about 2 years. I unplug it about every 6 months to keep the battery active. It last me about 5 hours which is more than enough time for the power to come back online. Great Product Recomended

GREAT PRODUCT FOR WHEN UTILITY POWER FAILS

By erverv

from Undisclosed

Comments about Tripp Lite 1250W PowerVerter APS 12VDC 120V Inverter/Charger with Auto Transfer Switching 2 Outlets:

Because I live in a suburban area, about 35 northeast of Houston, Texas, my neighborhood is subject to occasional electric utility failures... especially during severe thunder storms.

I purchased this Tripp-Lite unit over a year ago, and it has served me well. I utilized it to replace several small, battery powered UPS units to power my computers, printers, cable modem and DSL modem.

The Tripp-Lite unit has performed flawlessly. When the street power fails, the Tripp-Lite immediately turns itself on, allowing my electronic equipment to continue operating. Then, when the street power comes back on, the Tripp-Lite automatically turns itself off.

I use a 100 amp sealed lead-acid car battery to power the Tripp-Lite. It is especially convenient that the Tripp-Lite has a built-in battery trickle charger which operates automatically. This keeps the battery charged at all times.

I anticipate the 100 amp battery will probably need to be replaced after three years. But the cost of a new battery does not bother me, because during its life it has served me well... allowing all of my equipment (and data) to remain undamaged when the street power fails.

I highly recommend this unit. In fact, I purchased a similar, higher output Tripp-Lite unit for my second residence in Ohio.

Frequently Asked Questions

The APS1250 is made in China.
The APS2012 will run off generator power as long as the output of the generator meets the input requirements for that unit. That requirement is a nominal 120vac at 60hz.
Yes, we offer Pure Sine Wave Inverters. Visit our Inverters product category and filter for Pure Sine Wave Output. A pure sine wave inverter produces a smooth, sinusoidal AC output with a low level of distortion for better performance. A PWM (Pulse Width Modulated) Wave inverter produces a multi-step AC output that approximates a sinusoidal AC output with a higher level of distortion.
Thank you for your inquiry. The APSX1250 does support 3 stage charging with equalization.
APS-series inverters include a built-in battery charger. See our Inverter Buying Guide on tripplite.com for additional information and help with selection.
