Overview

DisplayPort is a new digital display interface standard put forth by the Video Electronics Standards Association (VESA). It defines a digital audio/video interconnect intended to be used between computer and display monitors, or computers and home theater systems. Similar to HDMI, in that it supports both Digital Video/Audio signals, DisplayPort is geared more toward the computer market, where HDMI dominates the Home Theater market. Tripp Lite's DisplayPort cables support a maximum bandwidth of 10.8Gbps, as well as DPCP ( DisplayPort Content Protection) , HDCP, and Ultra High Definition (UHD) 4K x 2K video resolutions up to 3840 x 2160 @ 60Hz

Frequently Asked Questions

DisplayPort supports audio, but this is an optional feature and not supported by all sources. If your source supports DisplayPort with audio and it is enabled, then this product will transmit the audio signal to a connected display. Displayport.org has an Audio User Guide (https://www.displayport.org/wp-content/uploads/2011/10/DP-Audio-User-Guide-v1.pdf) with instructions on how to make sure that your device is set up properly for transmitting audio.
DisplayPort is a high-performance digital interface for transmitting audio and video signals. It was developed to replace older technologies, such as VGA and DVI, and has become one of the most advanced display technologies.
