Overview

Tripp Lite's TLP76MSG offers reliable, GREEN surge technology that protects your computer and peripherals as well as the environment and your wallet. Energy-saving outlet configuration reduces energy waste (phantom loads) by cutting AC power to unused peripherals. The TLP76MSG has one always on outlet for those peripherals that need constant power like a fax machine, DVR or router. It also offer convenient, individual outlet switches that allow users to select which device is turned on and off. The TLP76MSG has 7 total outlets, 6 foot cord and diagnostic LEDs to warn of wiring problems and suppressor damage. Network-grade AC suppression rated at 1080 joules shields equipment from surges and line noise. Designed with an attractive cool gray suppressor housing, the TLP76MSG can accommodate up to 4 transformer plug outlets offering convenient protection of desktop computer equipment and accessories. $25,000 Ultimate Lifetime Insurance (U.S., Canada, and Puerto Rico only).

Features

  • Energy-saving green outlets allow individual outlet control using illuminated power switches for cutting power to peripherals not in use.
  • Six green outlets have their own illuminated ON/OFF switch for cutting power to peripherals when they are not in use. One "Always On" outlet provides continuous power for devices such as DVRs (TiVo), cable and satellite boxes, modems, routers and fax machines.
  • In addition to the individual illuminated outlet switches, an illuminated Master Switch controls power to all outlets (except the Always On outlet) at once. It can override other "ON" settings to cut power to all switched outlets at once.
  • Protected (Green) LED assures protection is present & Always On (Red) LED indicates that the Always On outlet is receiving power.
  • 1080 joules surge suppression rating with EMI/RFI line noise filtering help components perform at their peak (sharper, crisper video; deeper, fuller audio and longer component life spans).
  • Automatic shutoff permanently cuts power to outlets if protection circuit is incapacitated, preventing equipment damage and indicating replacement is required

Frequently Asked Questions

It’s a surge protector’s job to stop a voltage fluctuation or lightning strike from damaging the sensitive electronic equipment connected to it but it does so by sacrificing itself. Once a power surge has been blocked, your surge protector may no longer provide protection. Many of our surge protectors include an LED “protection” indicator that indicates that surge suppression are intact and providing protection against surges.
A surge protector will protect your electronics by acting as an “electrical sponge” by clamping down on spikes, “soaking them up” and converting the excess energy into heat, thus preventing the spikes from passing through the surge protector into the sensitive electronic devices and damaging them. As with any “sponge” a surge protector has a limited absorption capacity. Once that capacity is reached, the unit is no longer able to protect and must be replaced.
Please do not plug a surge protector into a UPS. This may void the UPS warranty. Tripp Lite UPS products have surge suppression. For additional surge protection, plug a Tripp Lite surge protector into a wall outlet and plug the UPS into the surge protector. Please remember that the equipment you want to run during a power loss must be plugged into only the battery side of the UPS. For additional outlets, plug a Tripp Lite power strip into the UPS. Do not overload the UPS.
Some Tripp Lite Audio/Video surge protectors are equipped with an audible alarm. This feature immediately alerts you to damaged internal protection circuitry. If the surge protector is the source of the alarm, your unit requires replacement. There are a few reasons why the audible alarm will sound: 1. A power surge occurred that damaged the unit's internal components. 2. In the event that the surge protector has been in service for a number of years, the internal protection components of the unit may have expired. 3. The unit may be faulty.
In the event that a power surge has occurred, and one or more devices connected to a Tripp Lite surge protector have been damaged, you may be eligible to file a claim under our Ultimate Lifetime Insurance program. However, to make an eligible claim regarding a Network surge protector, a Tripp Lite AC line surge protector must also be used in conjunction with it. Also, the surge protector can be replaced under warranty.
