Overview

Premium protection for your expensive home theater equipment, the HT10DBS Isobar® 10-Outlet Home/Business Theater Surge Protector features a network-grade surge protection rating of 3840 joules to defend your sensitive electronics against even the strongest surges and spikes. In fact, Tripp Lite will repair or replace any connected equipment damaged by surges, including direct lightning strikes, up to $500,000 for life (valid in the U.S., Canada and Puerto Rico only).

The HT10DBS features 10 NEMA 5-15R outlets, which are arranged in two exclusive isolated filter banks that prevent equipment connected to one bank from interfering with equipment connected to another. These internal barriers also prevent disruptive line noise from causing A/V distortion, computer lock-ups, data errors and similar problems. Four of the 10 outlets can accommodate transformers, and all of them are protected against EMI/RFI interference that can disrupt your electronics and inflict hardware damage or data loss.

Because residential power outlets have three wires—hot line (H), neutral (N) and ground (G)—the HT10DBS protects all three, covering two protection modes: full normal mode (H-N) and common mode (N-G/H-G).

In addition, the HT10DBS provides three-line 2.2 GHz gold coaxial protection, one-line phone/modem protection and one-line high-speed Ethernet protection for safeguarding your entire home theater system. Color-coded labels for outlets and device plugs identify connections at a glance. An integrated 12A circuit breaker protects all outlets and shuts down connected equipment in the event of an overload. An illuminated master provides one-touch control over connected components.

Frequently Asked Questions

It’s a surge protector’s job to stop a voltage fluctuation or lightning strike from damaging the sensitive electronic equipment connected to it but it does so by sacrificing itself. Once a power surge has been blocked, your surge protector may no longer provide protection. Many of our surge protectors include an LED “protection” indicator that indicates that surge suppression are intact and providing protection against surges.
A surge protector will protect your electronics by acting as an “electrical sponge” by clamping down on spikes, “soaking them up” and converting the excess energy into heat, thus preventing the spikes from passing through the surge protector into the sensitive electronic devices and damaging them. As with any “sponge” a surge protector has a limited absorption capacity. Once that capacity is reached, the unit is no longer able to protect and must be replaced.
Please do not plug a surge protector into a UPS. This may void the UPS warranty. Tripp Lite UPS products have surge suppression. For additional surge protection, plug a Tripp Lite surge protector into a wall outlet and plug the UPS into the surge protector. Please remember that the equipment you want to run during a power loss must be plugged into only the battery side of the UPS. For additional outlets, plug a Tripp Lite power strip into the UPS. Do not overload the UPS.
Some Tripp Lite Audio/Video surge protectors are equipped with an audible alarm. This feature immediately alerts you to damaged internal protection circuitry. If the surge protector is the source of the alarm, your unit requires replacement. There are a few reasons why the audible alarm will sound: 1. A power surge occurred that damaged the unit's internal components. 2. In the event that the surge protector has been in service for a number of years, the internal protection components of the unit may have expired. 3. The unit may be faulty.
In the event that a power surge has occurred, and one or more devices connected to a Tripp Lite surge protector have been damaged, you may be eligible to file a claim under our Ultimate Lifetime Insurance program. However, to make an eligible claim regarding a Network surge protector, a Tripp Lite AC line surge protector must also be used in conjunction with it. Also, the surge protector can be replaced under warranty.
