Purchased about two months ago and had no problems setting it up. Had a four hour power failure and the product worked well. I was able to keep my modem, router, switch and phone up and running for three hours.

Comments about Tripp Lite OmniSmart LCD 120V 1500VA 810W Line-Interactive UPS Tower LCD display USB port Energy Star:

They were the right price for the system. I purchased three of these. 1 for the media server, 1 for a 5 NAS units and the last one for my work station. They weathered the last two storms very nicely. I never ene got to the point of shutdown. I kept right on working.

Excellent device to protect your valuable electronics!

Comments about Tripp Lite OmniSmart LCD 120V 1500VA 810W Line-Interactive UPS Tower LCD display USB port Energy Star:

I received this as a gift and I love it! It was very easy to setup and since I plugged in my devices I haven't given it a second thought. We recently had a thunderstorm that knocked out the power to my house for a short time and the unit worked perfectly, kicking in power without missing a beat so that my wireless internet would still work and the kids could play on their tablets until the power came back on. Great product and would recommend!

Peace of mind

By Desert Rat

Comments about Tripp Lite OmniSmart LCD 120V 1500VA 810W Line-Interactive UPS Tower LCD display USB port Energy Star:

I bought this UPS because I live in Tucson where we get storms every summer with frequent lightning, and I also happen to have my computer in a room with that doesn't have the best quality electrical wiring. This combination makes power flickers and surges a daily occurrence, which wreaks havoc on my power supply and components, so I wanted a quality battery backup and power conditioner so I wouldn't have to worry about my investment being fried. The OmniSmart 1500VA does all that and more, with a long battery run time so I can safely shut down, and enough juice to power a system with multiple monitors, a power-hungry graphics card, and a large array of storage drives. The only negative I have encountered so far is that the software console (PowerAlert) can sometimes be unresponsive in that it shows my device as 'inactive,' when it clearly is functioning and fully charged.

OMNI1500LCDT is excellent.

By Georgebee

from Sebastian, FL

Comments about Tripp Lite OmniSmart LCD 120V 1500VA 810W Line-Interactive UPS Tower LCD display USB port Energy Star:

In use since I received in mid-Jan 2016, backing up my PC, telephony router/modem combo, flatbed scanner, external HDD and computer telephone. I'm also using most surge only outlets for lesser peripherals. It's probably somewhat more than I need but better too much than too little. It has performed flawlessly here in Florida where Florida Power and Light is lovingly referred to as Flicker Power and Light. My power seems to go off and on at least once a day (just a small exaggeration but not much of one) and during storms or windy weather more often and for longer periods. I haven't had to make use of the PowerAlert software yet but have confidence it will perform just as well as the UPS. Definitely worthy of 5-Stars. I recommend it without hesitation.

Comments about Tripp Lite OmniSmart LCD 120V 1500VA 810W Line-Interactive UPS Tower LCD display USB port Energy Star:

The TrippLite brand is second to none and this UPS in particular is the best in its price range. It's a great solid product and I recommend it. We've never had a bad unit or a failure and they are very easy to configure and set up for monitoring. Which is what I like about TrippLite software.

Comments about Tripp Lite OmniSmart LCD 120V 1500VA 810W Line-Interactive UPS Tower LCD display USB port Energy Star:

This is one of the few items of its kind that I could find that has 10 outlets - 5 battery/surge and 5 surge. It works great and with all those outlets you can plug everything you need in to be protected.

UPS does the job

By Ed

Comments about Tripp Lite OmniSmart LCD 120V 1500VA 810W Line-Interactive UPS Tower LCD display USB port Energy Star:

So far after a few months of ownership the UPS does it's job. I took one star off because of the archaic, Vista era monitoring software(Power Alert Agent Console 12.04) that forces you to load Java and is not very intuitive. The competition has you guys beat on that front.

I use it for my TV, DVR, PS3, AV Reciever, Blue-Ray player. Living in the country we get a lot of power fluctuations. Since I started using this, the power comes and goes, and everything plugged into it keeps playing like nothing happened.

Frequently Asked Questions

Follow the instructions below to perform a discharge reset for Omni and Smart LCDT UPS systems:
1. Press and hold the On/Off button on the front panel and release the button after the UPS emits a single beep. The UPS will now be powered off; the LCD screen will show only input voltage and battery capacity and there will be no AC output from the Battery-Backup/Surge-Protected outlets.
2. Disconnect the UPS from its AC input source. Verify the UPS is powered off by checking to make sure that the LCD screen is not lit and that the UPS is not passing power from the Battery-Backup/Surge-Protected outlets and the Surge-Protected-Only outlets.
3. Remove the screw at the bottom of the front panel. Carefully pry the front panel away from the UPS. Do not disconnect the ribbon cables. Remove the battery support bar.
4. Tilt the UPS to allow the battery to partially slide away from the UPS, exposing the battery terminals. Locate the red and black battery cables connected to the battery. Using needle-nose pliers, disconnect one of the UPS DC input cables, either the red or black cable, from the battery. Make sure that the cable does not come in contact with the opposite battery terminal.
5. Press and hold the On/Off button on the front panel for 10 seconds and then release it.
6. Reconnect the red or black UPS DC input cable to the terminal from which it was disconnected. Note: There will be a slight arc when reconnecting the input cable.
7. Reinstall the battery support bar and the front panel.
8. Connect the UPS to a known working AC power source. The Surge-Protected-Only outlets will begin to pass power. The Input icon and voltage, along with the Battery Capacity icon, will illuminate on the LCD screen.
9. To power on the unit, press and hold the On/Off button and release it after the UPS emits a single beep. The On-line icon will illuminate along with the Output icon and voltage. The UPS will begin passing power from the Battery-Backup/Surge-Protected outlets.
