Comments about Tripp Lite OmniSmart LCD 120V 900VA 475W Line-Interactive UPS Tower LCD display USB port:

I had my first Tripp Lite for over 5 years before the battery finally wore out. I got my $ worth I'd say. I think it saved my hard drive many times due to brown outs and power outages. Highly recommended and they offer great customer service.

Great device except for 1 thing

By TDarr01s

from Undisclosed

Comments about Tripp Lite OmniSmart LCD 120V 900VA 475W Line-Interactive UPS Tower LCD display USB port:

This is a great device and I have replaced most of my APC units with it.

It uses a standard USB cable unlike the ASA that have a propriety cable that is some times to long and in other instances not long enough. It does not require any thing other than Windows power management. No special software to manage the device and the system shutdown. Tech support is US based which is the main reason I use them. They are also cheaper than similar APC units.

The only thing keeping this device from getting 5 starts is that when the battery needs replaced the unit just stops working without any warning.

solid line-int ups

Comments about Tripp Lite OmniSmart LCD 120V 900VA 475W Line-Interactive UPS Tower LCD display USB port:

I've been using the omni900lcd for about three years as the UPS on my main workstation. Through major storms and minor brownouts, this unit has never let me down (unlike some of the cheaper "standby" units I used to use). The only issue with it was the initial out-of-the-box smell. I plugged it in out on my screen porch, and a few days later it was ready for the office. :)

Comments about Tripp Lite OmniSmart LCD 120V 900VA 475W Line-Interactive UPS Tower LCD display USB port:

This product worked great while it was working, than after about a year of use, it started buzzing. I spoke to an electronics tech and he told me to stop using it, it caused some major problems. I went to another surge protector.

I have seven OMNI900LCD' protecting Time clocks

By jimc46

Comments about Tripp Lite OmniSmart LCD 120V 900VA 475W Line-Interactive UPS Tower LCD display USB port:

Since they were installed I have had no problems with the units. Our time clocks are located out on the production floor attached to stands with computers, the OMNI900LCD size made for a perfect fit in the cramped PC

Frequently Asked Questions

Follow the instructions below to perform a discharge reset for Omni LCD and Smart LCD 1kVA and below UPS systems:
1. Press and hold the ON/OFF button on the front panel and release the button after the UPS emits a single beep. The UPS will now be powered off; the LCD screen will not be lit and there will be no AC output from the Battery-Backup/Surge-Protected outlets.
2. Disconnect the UPS from its AC input source. Verify the UPS is powered off by checking to make sure that the LCD screen is not lit and that the UPS is not passing power from the Battery-Backup/Surge-Protected outlets and the Surge-Protected-Only outlets.
3. Remove the screw that secures the battery door of the UPS and remove the battery door.
4. Tilt the UPS to allow the battery to partially slide away from the UPS, exposing the battery terminals. Locate the red and black battery cables connected to the battery. Using needle-nose pliers, disconnect one of the UPS DC input cables, either the red or black cable, from the battery. Make sure that the cable does not come in contact with the opposite battery terminal.
5. Press and hold the On/Off button on the front panel for 10 seconds and then release it.
6. Reconnect the red or black UPS DC input cable to the terminal from which it was disconnected. Note: There may be a slight arc when reconnecting the input cable.
7. Reinstall the battery door.
8. Connect the UPS to a known working AC source. The Surge-Protected-Only outlets will begin to pass power.
9. To power on the unit, press and hold the On/Off button and release it after the UPS emits a single beep. The LCD screen will illuminate and the UPS will begin passing power from the Battery-Backup/Surge-Protected outlets.
