SMART1500LCDT

SMART1500LCDT LCD Tower UPS System

Overview

The SMART1500LCDT SmartPro LCD 120V, 1500VA/900W Line-Interactive Uninterruptible Power Supply provides battery backup and AC power protection against blackouts, brownouts, power surges and line noise that can damage electronics or destroy data. Ideal for backing up your desktop computer or audio/visual components, this line-interactive UPS switches to battery backup mode in milliseconds to keep your connected equipment running long enough to save files and shut down safely with no data loss.

While all ten NEMA 5-15R outlets protect against surges, five outlets also provide up to 90 minutes of UPS battery support for a basic desktop PC and LCD monitor and up to 10 minutes of support at half load (450W).

Automatic voltage regulation (AVR) corrects undervoltages as low as 92V and overvoltages as high as 150V without using any battery power. EMI/RFI noise filtering improves your equipment’s performance and prevents damage. A 650-joule surge suppression rating protects your equipment from harmful power surges.

NEMA 5-15P plug with 6-foot cord connects to any NEMA 5-15R socket. Large LCD screen shows real-time input voltage, overload, AVR, remaining battery runtime and battery statuses at a glance. Alarm sounds to indicate power loss or low battery. With Tripp Lite’s free PowerAlert software (available via free web download), the SMART1500LCDT enables safe unattended system shutdown and file saves in case of a prolonged power failure.

Superb piece of equipment

Comments about Tripp Lite SmartPro LCD 120V 1500VA 900W Line-Interactive UPS AVR Tower LCD USB 10 Outlets:

This is a superb piece of equipment at a good price. It is easy to implement. It is quite heavy and does take up significant space. Supplied wires could be longer to accommodate placement. On a rack or on the floor, distance to power and to equipment matters. I give it top ratings nonetheless. Then again, I am yet to suffer my first lengthy power failure.

Great product for the price

By Tripping GFCI Outlet

Comments about Tripp Lite SmartPro LCD 120V 1500VA 900W Line-Interactive UPS AVR Tower LCD USB 10 Outlets:

My GFCI outlet in the basement flux a lot during storms and I decided to purchase the UPS to ensure my alarm panel garage openers, and Solar monitoring devices stay active during burnouts, flux and power outages. As soon as I installed the UPS we had a power flux and couple of days later and the UPS proved to do what it do! I'm happy I made the purchase and will be purchasing another one to put my extra refrigerator and freezer on in the basement.

Works great for me.

Comments about Tripp Lite SmartPro LCD 120V 1500VA 900W Line-Interactive UPS AVR Tower LCD USB 10 Outlets:

I'm using this to back up my network hardware: DSL modem, switches, wifi router, etc. It works great and gives me plenty of run time. I had a power outage the day I plugged it in and set it up. It ran for an hour and a half or so before exhausted (about what I would have guessed for the load). and then shut down (the outtage was more than 24 hours). When the power came back on it came up on its own and everything started back up and the batteries were charged up quickly. I really like the display as it is helpful to see the loading and predicted run time. I'm very happy with it.

Comments about Tripp Lite SmartPro LCD 120V 1500VA 900W Line-Interactive UPS AVR Tower LCD USB 10 Outlets:

I am using the TrippLite UPS in my home office. The setup was easy and the directions were clear. In addition to my Network server, the house thermostat is on the modem WiFi. That way when we are gone, I can still log in to check on house temps and determine if I need to call a repairman.

1990's home office in 2016

By FultonTech

Comments about Tripp Lite SmartPro LCD 120V 1500VA 900W Line-Interactive UPS AVR Tower LCD USB 10 Outlets:

I've had personal computers in my business since 1991 and have been a Tripp Lite customer for just as long. I haven't had a UPS in my home office since about 2000, so when I purchased this one I was thinking about the old desk side tower and huge CRT monitor, modem, etc. I had back then. Now that I use a notebook and LCD monitors, there is no load on the UPS. I now have a 4TB desktop NAS, wireless router, broadband modem, tiny workstation plugged into the UPS. Still showing "No Load".
I'm going to pull the plug from the wall to test. since the software installed on the workstation says 180 minutes remaining.

Robust and reliable

By patmat

Comments about Tripp Lite SmartPro LCD 120V 1500VA 900W Line-Interactive UPS AVR Tower LCD USB 10 Outlets:

I have been using several brands and units through the last fifteen years at my home as well as my business place. Situated in an area where frequent natural lightning, local browning or plain lack of electricity at the most unexpected time forced me to invested in those extra units. Where I'm using this unit for, this is the third unit I'm installing in 7 years. I had other brands before this Tripp Lite. They died too early to my taste.

I've been using Tripp Lite units in the four years at other stations and they survive better the frequent outage in my area. Today I opted again for this specific unit to keep my office networking devices on when we expect them to be on.

Frequently Asked Questions

Follow the instructions below to perform a discharge reset for Omni and Smart LCDT UPS systems:
1. Press and hold the On/Off button on the front panel and release the button after the UPS emits a single beep. The UPS will now be powered off; the LCD screen will show only input voltage and battery capacity and there will be no AC output from the Battery-Backup/Surge-Protected outlets.
2. Disconnect the UPS from its AC input source. Verify the UPS is powered off by checking to make sure that the LCD screen is not lit and that the UPS is not passing power from the Battery-Backup/Surge-Protected outlets and the Surge-Protected-Only outlets.
3. Remove the screw at the bottom of the front panel. Carefully pry the front panel away from the UPS. Do not disconnect the ribbon cables. Remove the battery support bar.
4. Tilt the UPS to allow the battery to partially slide away from the UPS, exposing the battery terminals. Locate the red and black battery cables connected to the battery. Using needle-nose pliers, disconnect one of the UPS DC input cables, either the red or black cable, from the battery. Make sure that the cable does not come in contact with the opposite battery terminal.
5. Press and hold the On/Off button on the front panel for 10 seconds and then release it.
6. Reconnect the red or black UPS DC input cable to the terminal from which it was disconnected. Note: There will be a slight arc when reconnecting the input cable.
7. Reinstall the battery support bar and the front panel.
8. Connect the UPS to a known working AC power source. The Surge-Protected-Only outlets will begin to pass power. The Input icon and voltage, along with the Battery Capacity icon, will illuminate on the LCD screen.
9. To power on the unit, press and hold the On/Off button and release it after the UPS emits a single beep. The On-line icon will illuminate along with the Output icon and voltage. The UPS will begin passing power from the Battery-Backup/Surge-Protected outlets.
