Utilize your vehicle's battery to efficiently power appliances, small electronics and office equipment on the road. Continuously supplies up to 700W of 120V AC power to 3 AC outlets from any 12V battery. Featuring an ultra-compact, lightweight design with metal housing, the PV700HF is the most rugged inverter available.

NOTE: To protect against high current draw that may occur during inverter failure, a fuse link rated at 125a should be positioned no more than 18" from the PV700HF's battery in the positive line.

NOTE: Your load should not exceed your inverter's maximum continuous output power of 700 watts. To determine your total load, add the wattage ratings of all equipment you will connect to your inverter. Wattage ratings are usually listed in equipment manuals or on nameplates. If your equipment is rated in amps, multiply that number times AC utility voltage to estimate watts. (Example: a drill requires 2.5 amps. 2.5 amps × 120 volts = 300 watts.)

Compact unit does the job Overall this has been a reliable unit for recharging appliances on the many camping trips I take. The highlights are its compact size and light weight. I didn't give it five stars because there are a couple of items I'd like to see addressed in future inverter designs. The 3-prong outlets are too close together for a variety of appliances that have the clunky square boxes at the end of their recharging cords. I'd also like to see Tripp sell a wiring kit for this for connection to a 12-volt car battery. Not sure if they have since I purchased mine but I ended up having to head down to my local auto parts store to complete the system. Still these are minor given the reliability this unit has provided. September 16, 2013

This product meets my needs well. Purchased this product for my RV. The installation was fast and easy just as the salesman said it wold be. Although I haven't had it much use yet, I feel that I will like it. February 24, 2013
PV700HF Mounted in Work Truck The PV700HF is mounted on the front lower portion of my work truck dash connected through my 12 volt cigarette lighter power outlet. I rely on this inverter to keep a number of electronic devices charged for use at remote locations in Nevada. I also connect with an extension cord in the field when I have longer periods of use. The inverter has been with me to many rugged locations and has never had any problems. I have have gone through several cheaper inverters that just did not hold up under the conditions I routinely find myself in while performing my work as a hydrographer . October 29, 2012

how come the fan runs continously?

this will run down the battery. when no load is on the inverter. can the fan be put in standby mode> to only run when inverter is loaded?

Thank you for your inquiry. These are cooling fans that run continuosly to keep the unit cool. The fan can not be put in standby mode.

Thank you for your inquiry. If the PV700HF is overloaded the unit will shutdown and the power switch will remain in the "on" position. If the application you use the PV700HF in is going to continually overload the unit, you may wish to consider a larger PV that will better support the load of your application. Constantly overloading the PV can cause damage to the unit.

Where do i find a 125-amp fuse external ?

This unit does not have a 125 amp external fuse that can be used in conjunction with it and can only support up to 80 amps continuous at the 12 vdc input.

A local electricial may be able to help with obtaining that external input fuse.

Does the PV700HF output a pure sine wave?

What sort of PWM approximation foes the PV700HF supply? Two levels at each half cycle, or a finer approximation?

The PV700HF does not provide a pure sine wave, it provides and maintains PWM sine wave output voltage of 115 V AC (+/- 8 V AC).
