Continuously supplies up to 2400W of 120V AC power to 2 AC outlets from any 24V battery or automotive DC source. Frequency control locks AC output at 60Hz for operating stability of motor loads. Includes a set of high current DC input terminals for simple, permanent installation. Highly reliable large transformer design specializes in powering motors and other inductive loads with high-current startup needs.

NOTE: To protect against high current draw that may occur during inverter failure, a fuse link rated at 250a should be positioned no more than 18" from the PV2400FC's battery in the positive line.

Real powerhouse! I have been using a Sunforce 2500 watt pure sine wave inverter (11260). It is rated at 5000 surge wattage but it will dump the load and go into fault mode at 3000 watts! Yes, my cables are oversized and a very short run from my battery bank. My Pv2000fc or my Pv2400fc will out power it. Either one will hold the starting surge at full rated inverter capacity until the start load settles down to run load. Another irritating aspect of the Sunforce unit is that it is regulated at 61.5 hertz. I have to reset clocks & timing devices every day. The Tripplite Pv series inverters are a rock steady 60 hertz under load! Any load I have connected to them operates just fine with modified sine wave current. The only problems I have had was with battery backups for my computers (ups). They must require pure sine wave because the alarm goes off with modified sine wave. Would recommend these Tripplite units to all. May 11, 2013
never again I owen five of these units. The first one I bought ten years ago and is the only one that works. The other four are less then two years old. They are all having problems. Two broke in three monthes. One shuts down after five mins of use. And, the last one says it has a load on it. When nothing is pluged in to it. I sent the first two in to get fixed. They worked for 6 more monthes and then they stopped. Just in time for the warranty to be over with. November 18, 2012
Excellant Unit I bought other units in the past, which turned out to be made in china or cheaply made in the U.S.A and they were full of cheap transformers and diodes. These units all failed me and the companies would not repair them under warranty. However, I bought this new Tripp Lite 24 volt unit and I will tell you, is it ever a lot better and it takes a lot less power to produce the output. For example, I could only do 1-2 loads with the industrial washer with those cheap units and the batteries would be dead! With this new unit no kidding I can do up to 5 loades now using the same batteries!! Would highly recommend. August 24, 2012

Is the power output suitable for computers?

We want to run 1200 watts of server and network equipment 24/7 from a 24V battery system. Is the stepped sin wave clean enough for power supplies on sensitive electronics?

I run a Dell computer & an Apple Macpro, the only issue I have run across is with battery backup units (ups). They must require a pure sine wave source as the alarm goes off with modified sine wave.

Thank you for your inquiry. The PWM output waveform of the PV2400FC will support most electrical devices as long as the input requirement of the supported equipment is not sine wave.

I need an inverter to power up a hoist 120AC at less than 20A when in operation. The problem is that at the start of the Hoist the break release draws another up to 10A and this trips the fuse for oter units (if 20A fuse). The high Amp draw is for few seconds only and then it drops below 20A. Can a single outlet of the inverter support this ?

The PV2400FC is capable of supporting the 20amp continuous load with no problem. The additional 10amps, which the unit will only support for a short period of time, puts the unit at the maximum load it can support. Any aditional load will overload the unt.

Thank you for your inquiry. Because the PV2400FC is our largest inverter, you would have to go to 2 inverters to get a 40amp 120 vac output.

If the battery voltage drops below 20vdc the unit will not be able to support the load as this is the low voltage cutoff point for 24vdc battereis.

Pure Sine Wave Inverter

I am looking for an inverter that will not damage my laptop and other test equipment. I need 2000 watts of power and would like the inverter to shut of when the ignition is turned off and turn on automatically when the ignition is turned on. Is this the inverter to use or do you have another recommendation? Please list any accessoies I would need for my application. Thanks.

It's a 2000 watt inverter that comes with an Ignition Switch Control feature that will allow you to turn the unit on and off using the ignition switch.
