Note: The B203-101 and B203-104 are designed for long distance USB data transfer.

  • When Using with Audio or Video over USB Products (Such as speakers, web cams and display adapters) - Check with the manufacturer to find out if the video device uses Isochronous USB data transfer. If it does, you will need to use a non-Cat5 USB extender product.

  • If you are unable to use the B203-101 or B203-104 in one of the applications mentioned above, use one of the following Tripp Lite non-Cat5 USB 2.0 Extenders: U026-016, U026-20M, U042-036

  • When Using with a Touchscreen Monitor - Confirm with the manufacturer that a USB over Cat5 extender can be used with their touchscreen monitor.
  • Tripp Lite’s B203-101 USB 2.0 over Cat5 Extender Kit allows you to connect your USB-equipped Windows PC to a USB 2.0 or 1.1 peripheral or device up to 330 ft. away. This is especially useful for connecting a printer or other peripheral that is far away from your computer, but does not have network connectivity or is located in an area where the network is unavailable. The USB extender kit sends the USB signal from the transmitter to the receiver over a user-supplied Cat5/5e/6 cable. Transfer rates of up to 480Mbps at the maximum length. Compatible with Windows XP and later operating systems; not Mac compatible. Backwards compatible with USB 1.1 peripherals. For maximum signal integrity, use Cat5e Solid Conductor UTP cable. The USB extender kit’s connectors and internal components are manufactured using high-quality materials suitable for use in demanding office, industrial, and commercial settings. Good They work fairly well over the 100 feet we are currently using them - via an intermediary patch panel and wall faceplate. Use them for remote Keyboard/mouse. Able to use 4 of them on same computer without a problem. Install the software FIRST before connecting them. You have to have power at the remote location or it won't recognize the remote device. You will have to reboot after software installation. It may take a minute or two after connecting for it to recognize the remote device. See Q&A section - Installation does not auto-set the softare as a service to run before login - so if using to remotely control a PC with Keyboard/mouse - you may have to work on tweaking the installtion to suit your needs. Answer:
B203-101 is simply an extender that allows a USB 2.0 signal to go longer than the maximum 5 meter distance allowed by the USB specification. It will certainly support a USB hub (powered) at the end of a a 50ft run. As far as a BlueRay player....that would be a video signal, most likely HDMi, that the B203-101 would not support.

    Answer:
The Receiver unit in the B203-101 kit is the only powered unit...AC adapter included. It does not allow for charging devices, and provides only standard 500ma per port, same as a typical USB hub.

Will it be OK to connect a 7 port powered hub to this extender?
