Frequently Asked Questions

The laser pointer is red on the PR-EZ1 and the PR-US2.
There are two versions of the Easy Presenter remote control. Initial shipments of the Easy Presenter came with remote version A. Current and future versions will ship with remote version B. The remotes have the same shape and size with only the following the differences: * Next and previous buttons: On version A, the buttons map to Page Up/Down. On version B, the buttons map to Up/Down. * Laser pointer location: On version A, the button is on the lower part of the remote's face. On version B, the button is above the Volume Up button.
The RF frequency for the PR-EZ1 is 433 MHz.
Tripp Lite offers three presentation remotes: PR-EZ1, PR-US2, and PR-PRO3. They all have a slide forward and slide back (aka next/previous slide) button as well as volume control. All remotes have a laser pointer button and control PowerPoint and Keynote. Selecting a remote depends on personal preference, but you should consider if you need mouse control: If you need mouse control, choose the PR-US2 or PR-PRO3. Mouse control is helpful if you are controlling programs other than PowerPoint and Keynote. If you don't need mouse control, choose the PR-EZ1 because it is entirely button based. Fewer buttons make it easier to control your PowerPoint presentation. The following is a features summary of the three Keyspan USB presentation remotes: - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - PR-EZ1 Easy Presenter - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - This remote has individual buttons for different actions. Since it’s entirely button-based, it’s easy for anyone to use with PowerPoint and/or Keynote. This remote uses a coin-style battery and has an on/off switch. (The PR-US2 does not have an on/off switch. The PR-PRO3 does.) The PR-EZ1 does not include mouse control. (The PR-US2 and PR-PRO3 have mouse control.) Buttons include: * Next slide * Previous slide * Volume up * Volume down * Mute * Laser pointer * Black screen * F5 (Start slideshow in PowerPoint for Windows) * ESC (end slideshow in PowerPoint and Keynote) * On/off switch - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - PR-US2 Presentation Remote - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - The PR-US2 includes mouse control with left/right click buttons, but lacks the black screen, F5, and ESC buttons. It has volume control, but does not have a dedicated button for this purpose. Instead, this remote has a MODE button that gives each button a different purpose depending on which mode you are in (Presentation mode or Media mode). The PR-US2 uses a coin-style battery, but does not have an on/off switch. Because of this, the remote requires the laser pointer to be enabled prior to use (by pressing two buttons on the remote). Buttons include: * Next slide * Previous slide * Volume up (via Media mode) * Volume down (via Media mode) * Mute (via Media mode) * Laser pointer (must be enabled by pressing two buttons) * Mouse control pad * Left/right mouse click - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - PR-PRO3 Presentation Remote - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - The PR-PRO3 combines the features of the PR-US2 and PR-EZ1, plus new features. It uses two AA batteries for easy replacement and has a storage area in the remote for the USB receiver. It has mouse control, two types of slide control, and volume controls. Buttons include: * Next slide (on the remote's face) * Previous slide (on the remote's face) * Next slide (via swicth on right side of remote) * Previous slide (via swicth on right side of remote) * Volume up * Volume down * Laser pointer * Mouse control pad * Left/right mouse click * Black screen * F5 and ESC (Press and hold F5 to ESC) * On/off switch
The PREZ1 uses a 5-volt lithium battery (CR2032).
