    Frequently Asked Questions

The master switch on Tripp Lite power strips is designed to work each time it is used. In the event that the switch does not respond when toggled, the unit requires replacement.
Follow these instructions to verify that the switch is or is not working properly:
    1. Remove any equipment still plugged into the unit.
    2. Be sure that the master switch is in the OFF position, when applicable.
    3. Unplug the unit from the AC power source.
    4. If your unit has a circuit breaker, check to make sure it is reset.
    5. For GFCI-equipped models (TLM609GF, TLM812GF, and TLM825GF), reset the GFCI input plug.
    6. The power strip requires a working 120V AC power source that provides computer-grade power. Check the 120V AC power source by plugging a different device into the outlet. After verifying that the AC source outlet is passing power, plug the power strip into the outlet.
    7. With the power strip plugged into the AC source, toggle the master switch to the ON position, when applicable.
    8. Attach a small device, such as an alarm clock or radio, to the power strip to test if the unit is passing power from each outlet.
If, after you have followed these steps, the master switch is still not operating properly, the unit requires replacement.
