APS750 PowerVerter Inverter/Charger

Overview

The APS750 750W PowerVerter APS 12V DC 120V AC Inverter/Charger is a reliable power source for a wide variety of equipment ranging from power tools and pumps to portable lighting and computer equipment in heavy-load conditions. With no fumes, fuel or excess noise, it’s an excellent alternative to generator power.

The DC-to-AC inverter features an automatic line-to-battery transfer switch and integrated charging system that allow it to work as a vehicle inverter, standalone AC power source or extended-run UPS. It delivers 750W of continuous power, 1125W up to one hour, or 1500W of peak power up to 10 seconds during equipment startup or cycling. An automatic overload detector, cooling fan and resettable AC circuit breakers protect the unit from damage.

Designed for easy installation in RVs, over-the-road trucks, fleet vehicles and emergency vehicles, the APS750 converts stored power from any 12V battery or automotive DC source to safe, stable, computer-grade AC power for unlimited runtime. When hardwired to an external 120V AC source, the unit keeps the user-supplied battery charged via a three-stage 20A charging system while simultaneously delivering AC power to connected equipment.

When used as a UPS, the APS750 responds to blackouts and brownouts with an automatic, instantaneous transfer to battery-derived AC output. LEDs on the unit indicate AC/DC operational modes, overload status, DC voltage level, shutdown status and system fault status.

The 750W PowerVerter works exactly as advertised for my home dual 12v Car Battery (in parallel) setup. I use it for powering my servers and network during power outages and it has provided over 2 hours of uninterrupted power under test conditions.

Good quality as expected from Tripp Lite

Comments about Tripp Lite 750W PowerVerter APS 12VDC 120V Inverter/Charger with Auto-Transfer Switching 2 Outlets:

This 750w inverter/charger/transfer switch replaced a failed on-line inverter, and repurpose a separate power supply used for battery charging. Provides 120vac backup for my residential network and entertainment systems, things that do not like an occasional trip and reclose from utility. Using two surplus 12v 180ah VRLA telecom type batteries in the house, more than enough for typical service interruptions here.

I am not a fan of small UPS's, I've found them to be failure prone when you need them, and throw away when they do fail.

A side note about Tripp Lite. My work truck had a 1970s vintage silver colored 1,000w Tripp Lite mobile inverter mounted in the utility bodies of my 4WD service trucks. Square wave output but worked fine for power tools, all the way up to a Milwaukee Hole Hog. Tough unit, those trucks lived hard lives on rough roads here in the Colorado Rockies. The inverter migrated with me to new trucks thru the years as a proudly held possession. Still worked when I retired recently, although I heard from a coworker that it may have finally become deceased after 30+ years of service. That's quality worthy of mention.

Built Well, works as advertised

Comments about Tripp Lite 750W PowerVerter APS 12VDC 120V Inverter/Charger with Auto-Transfer Switching 2 Outlets:

I am using this with my wood boiler pump system. Have connect to 1 Deep Cycle Battery 800 Cranking Amps. Tested and can run for ~2 hours, that is with 3 pumps .8 Amps each running full time and another 2 pumps running ~50% of the time. Takes around 4-5 hours to completely charge back. I will probably add one more battery in the future to extend that time, just incase I am not home or can't get the generator started.

They made my office hurricane proof.

Comments about Tripp Lite 750W PowerVerter APS 12VDC 120V Inverter/Charger with Auto-Transfer Switching 2 Outlets:

I have 7 computers in my office, all connected to a large server and they all have the APS 750 or 1250 inverters. My only recommendations is that you always use the Gel Batterys otherwise these inverters last 2 years.
When a hurricane hits florida and electricity goes out, I am running for days on my system. I even plug in lamps and fans so we can continue to work into the night if need be.

This thing really saved the day on an extended power outage.

Comments about Tripp Lite 750W PowerVerter APS 12VDC 120V Inverter/Charger with Auto-Transfer Switching 2 Outlets:

I bought this unit to backup my 100 gallon aquarium filters, pumps, and heaters in case of a power outage. I hooked 2 deep cycle marine batteries in parallel for the emergency power. We lost power one night in a storm and it was almost 18 hours before it was restored. This unit provided pure, clean sine wave power to all the aquarium devices and the aquarium never missed a beat. Filters worked flawlessly and heaters kept steady temps. It saved my tank! I am thinking to add another unit to backup my security and surveillance systems.

Outstanding Value

Comments about Tripp Lite 750W PowerVerter APS 12VDC 120V Inverter/Charger with Auto-Transfer Switching 2 Outlets:

Bought this unit after going through three other brands of so called "inverters". This unit does what it says it will do. Use the APS750 with a small 2000W generator and a single deep cycle marine 12V battery. Used to provide power to a remote cabin. I regularly power a 1400W toaster in the mornings without firing up my generator. Bottom line, "it just works" and it does it well. I wouldn't hesitate to buy another one.

Comments about Tripp Lite 750W PowerVerter APS 12VDC 120V Inverter/Charger with Auto-Transfer Switching 2 Outlets:

I use this product as backup protection for my coal stove during power outages. The stove needs a reliable 120v power supply to operate properly. The APS750 has never let me down switching instantly to battery during an outage and back to the grid again when power is restored. In my opinion a very well made, reliable and affordable product. Thank you!

Frequently Asked Questions

The operating temperature range for the APS750 is 32° to 104° F (0° to 40° C).
The APS2012 will run off generator power as long as the output of the generator meets the input requirements for that unit. That requirement is a nominal 120vac at 60hz.
Yes, we offer Pure Sine Wave Inverters. Visit our Inverters product category and filter for Pure Sine Wave Output. A pure sine wave inverter produces a smooth, sinusoidal AC output with a low level of distortion for better performance. A PWM (Pulse Width Modulated) Wave inverter produces a multi-step AC output that approximates a sinusoidal AC output with a higher level of distortion.
Thank you for your inquiry. The APSX1250 does support 3 stage charging with equalization.
APS-series inverters include a built-in battery charger. See our Inverter Buying Guide on tripplite.com for additional information and help with selection.
